Promo Day Live Event: Twitter Book Promo Party


During the Promo Day event on Saturday 11th May 2019 as well as the free webinars, giveaways, and pitch sessions with publishers, there will also be live events happening throughout the day.

Join in the live chats via social media for extra exposure for your books, brand, and/or products. 

Promo Day doesn't just want to teach you tips and strategies to help with your book marketing, and author branding efforts. We want to help you put them into action. 

Got a product or service that would be useful to writers and authors? We want to help you get in touch with your target audience.

The first live event during Promo Day 2019 will be a Twitter Book Promo Party where everyone is welcome to join in using the hashtag #PromoDay2019.

You'll have the chance to introduce yourself and tell everyone about your books. We'll also be chatting about our book marketing journeys so far, and sharing about tools and resources that have helped us.

Workshop title: Twitter for Authors

Presenter: Devin Cutting

A brief outline of what will be covered:

1) A written presentation about how authors use hashtag activities on Twitter to promote themselves and network with others. It will include first hand information and quotes from authors who have utilized these methods. Several authors have already agreed to be interviewed.

2) A chat on Twitter to demonstrate how #IndieFeature and other hashtag activities work. I plan to invite other hashtag hosts to join in so that they can answer questions about their activities.

About Devin:

Devin Cutting is a film and creative writing student from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. He's a member of several writers' groups, and he hosts #IndieFeature on Twitter. A short story that he wrote will be published in a multi-author anthology this year. His other interests include exercising, listening to music and watching professional wrestling.

She retired early from careers in teaching, psychotherapy and parent coaching to focus on her specialty - parent-child relationships. In addition to writing picture books, Susie writes a weekly parenting blog and produces the podcast “Building Parents & Good Kids.” She is currently writing a book for parents. Her life’s work with children and parents, provided Susie rich resources from which she gained wisdom and skills to share with today’s parents. Presenter Bio:
Brandy Potter lives in Maryland with her daughter and pets. She has been writing since she was 9 years old. Currently in development are a crime novel, a mafia story, a screenplay and another semi-autobiographical story. Plus Venomous Lives

Brandy works in various genres including Sci-Fi Fantasy, Crime, and many others. She says she is not genre driven but rather she is character or story driven. She finds her stories come to her in many ways.

Her character development focuses on the psychology of the everyday person, fictionalized visions of the everyday people overcoming their conflicts. She likes strong female leads but maintains that they are strong in different ways. She also shies away from the industry pre-packaged protagonists. Her fans say that her characters are so developed that they often have a hard time letting them go and are always routing for a sequel.

Her writing influences consist of David Eddings, Jane Austin, Rudyard Kipling, J.R.R. Tolkein, Nora Roberts and Steven King. Brandy is an avid reader who prefers printed books to e-readers because, "There is nothing like the smell and the feel of a book.

If a submitted manuscript is rejected by our submissions team, we explain exactly what needs done for the manuscript to be accepted. At this time, we only publish work written in English by authors in the USA. In time, we hope to be global but that is in the future.

Street magic performer. Award-winning ice sculptor. Hog-calling champion. These are all things Tara Lazar has never been. Instead, she prefers writing stories for children. THE MONSTORE is her first book, inspired by her pesky little brother (who is no longer so pesky). Tara has several picture books to be released in the coming years. Next up: I THOUGHT THIS WAS A BEAR BOOK in August; LITTLE RED GLIDING HOOD in October. Tara is the founder of PiBoIdMo, otherwise known as Picture Book Idea Month, the picture book writer’s alternative to NaNoWriMo. In November 2014, over 1300 writers participated in PiBoIdMo. Her blog has been named to WritetoDone’s “Top 10 Writing Blogs” two years in a row.
