Who Should Take Part in Promo Day 2019

Promo Day is a conference for creatives of every kind; Writers, Authors, PR companies, Publishers, Editors, Book Cover Designers, Illustrators, Book Reviewers, Book Bloggers, and anyone else interested in books and marketing.

The event gives all participants the chance to connect with others from all areas of the publishing industry. So if you're looking to network with industry professionals this is the event for you!

Writers and Authors

Promo Day is all about what happens after you've written a book. It's a chance for writers, and authors to promote their work, whilst networking with others from the industry, and learning new strategies to help them in their career.

PR Companies

Book tours are a highly effective way to promote new, and older releases. Given that a large amount of Promo Day participants are authors and publishers, this is the perfect event to showcase the services a PR company has to offer.

Editors

Although the main focus of Promo Day is book marketing, and author branding, the event also touches on elements like editing, formatting, etc.... that play an important role in the success of a book. The first step for great sales is having a great product. This is why editors should participate in the Promo Day event. It's the perfect platform to use to raise awareness of the importance of editing, and to showcase the various services they offer.

Book Cover Designers

Whilst we'd all like to think it isn't true, most of us are guilty of judging books by their covers. A book cover can make, or break your chances of success.  A lot of Promo Day's participants have yet to publish their books and are looking to learn more about the industry before they take that step. For those considering self publishing, being able to connect with book cover designers during the event is incredibly useful. Many in fact, will be on the look out for a cover design for their book.

Illustrators

When it comes to illustrations a lot of writers don't know where to start. Finding an illustrator to work with can be difficult for those who haven't done it before. Promo Day is the perfect place for illustrators and writers to connect and discuss the illustration process.

Book reviewers

Book reviews are gold for authors. Word of mouth is the best kind of publicity an author can get for their book. Authors are always on the look out for book reviewers they can share their books with. If you're a book reviewer you're sure to find new opportunities during the Promo Day event.

Book Bloggers

Book bloggers do an amazing job of spreading the word about books and authors. From reviewing books, showcasing them, hosting giveaways, interviews and guest posts, book bloggers are an author's best friend. So if you're looking to connect with authors and publishers, and to put yourself on the industry radar this is the event for you.

Avid readers

Not a professional book blogger or reviewer? But you still love books and finding out more about authors, and the publishing industry? Promo Day is for you too. There are lots of giveaways where you could win free copies of books, and they are also lots of opportunities to chat with authors during the event.

So want are you waiting for? Bookmark this event now so you don't miss out on Promo Day 2019.

#Webinar: The Basics of Self-Editing by Anne Nerison #PromoDay2017

Webinar: The Basics of Self-Editing

Presenter: Anne Nerison

About the webinar:

In this webinar, I'll be discussing some tips writers can use for self-editing. Not only does editing let you dig deeper into your story and make it stronger, but it can save you money when it comes time to hire an editor. We'll talk about some of the basics, like punctuation, spelling, and dialogue, as well as some bigger issues, such as backstory and plot holes (and much more). We'll also tie this in to what readers expect from books, and what editors expect when they're handed a manuscript. After this webinar, you'll come away with ideas on how to make your manuscript stand out from the rest.

About Anne Nerison:

Anne Nerison is the founder of and editor at Inkstand Editorial, LLC, which provides editing services to emerging and published writers of fiction and nonfiction. In her spare time, she can be found reading, playing with her two cats, or enjoying the Minnesota outdoors with her partner. Meet the #PD15 Sponsors, Sandy Lender Ink, www.PromoDay.info

Fantasy enthusiasts will recognize Sandy Lender as the author of the 2007 breakout novel & Choices Meant for Gods from ArcheBooks Publishing, but the South Florida resident has been writing since she was knee high to a grasshopper. At the early age ofabout six, Sandy entertained the folks in her great grandmother's apartment building in Southern Illinois with stories of squeaky spiders and mice picking berries. Sandy won a first-place award with that imagination when she wrote a sequel to Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird during her school days in the St. Louis area before earning a degree in English from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. That led to a career in journalism where she's worked for a variety of publications the past 23 years.Today she's the editorial director of two construction magazines and editor/publisher of an avian publication. ArcheBooks is releasing the final of the “Choices” trilogy late this summer in hardcover and a number of her YA novels are getting star treatment. She presents workshops on writing, editing, online marketing and the surprising topic of parrot husbandry. But writing and marketing are only half her story. Sandy is also a sea turtle conservationist, serving in the group Turtle Time since 2005. She also has companion parrots and turtles in her home who keep her hopping. It takes one ring on her cell phone to discover she's remained obsessed with Duran Duran since 1984. She's beaten cancer twice, but still fights the IRS. For PD15 she’s teaching us the art of organization for marketing—looking at her schedule, you can see the need for organization to keep everything on deadline.

Meet the #PD15 Sponsors, Book Goodies, www.PromoDay.info

BookGoodies.net was started by Deborah Carney in 2004 as a site for people to find books.  It was a simple directory site with links to book sellers and places to get other “book goodies” like lamps and things.  Over the years it evolved and finally when the Kindle hit and my friends started publishing books, as did I, I wanted to create a site where people could find books published by the “little guy”.  I was also involved in podcasting and decided to start interviewing authors.  So BookGoodies.com was born in 2010.

BookGoodies.com has a mission of helping authors get found by readers and bloggers, plus educating authors on best practices for publishing and marketing. In addition to the forum we have an author’s only Facebook group where participants have actively produced anthologies with the proceeds going towards literary charities.
