Webinar: Use Your Spare Creative Energy to Build a Community with Sandy Lender

#Webinar: Use Your Spare Creative Energy to Build a Community with Sandy Lender #PromoDay2018

Webinar Title: Use Your Spare Creative Energy to Build a Community

Presenter: Sandy Lender

A brief outline of what will be covered:
Authors have used blogs to attract audiences to their new releases since the early 2000s. For the past 10 years, attracting an audience to a blog has become more difficult. Enter the concept of building a community or network. We’re not talking about going back to forums and yahoo groups. Instead, we’ll talk specifically about how to build a community similar to the Mighty Networks concept, either on that emerging (and impressive) platform or on other free platforms. You CAN bring all your marketing elements together in one place and it doesn’t have to be scary.

In this session, we’ll look specifically at:
·  How to decide who you invite to your network—how to “niche down” to make the community work for its members
·  How to set the goals for your network
·  How to prepare topics for engagement
· How to make your community—large or small—profitable in engagement, dollars, traffic, or what YOUR goal may be

About Sandy:
Sandy Lender has a 26-year career in journalism and public relations. She has taught media training to university officials and corporate CEOs, but also has a keen understanding of online marketing. In the mid-2000s, she ran a number of blogs to support marketing of the fantasy series ArcheBooks Publishing released for her, and she taught successful blogging to fellow authors. Lender taught how to use social media for one’s business at the 2011 CONEXPO/CON-AGG, which is the largest tradeshow in the United States, and at a couple World of Asphalt conferences over the years. She has been collecting awards for her technical writing in 2016 and 2017, and her company IYF Publishing has released its first novel, She’s Not Broken, in early February of this year.

Webinar: Finding Your Voice- Building Your Author Brand with Clay Gilbert

#PromoDay2018 #Webinar: Finding Your Voice- Building Your Author Brand with Clay Gilbert

Webinar title: Finding Your Voice: Building Your Author Brand

Presenter: Clay Gilbert

A brief outline of what will be covered:

In this webinar, Clay Gilbert, author of the "Children of Evohe" science fiction series, as well as "Eternity", "Dark Road to Paradise", and "The Conversationalist", talks about how you can increase audience awareness of yourself and your work by building an author brand that lets readers know what kind of experience they're in for when they buy one of your books.  Clay says, "When I first became a professional author, I quickly realized I had to show readers what a 'Clay Gilbert story' was, and why my books offered something they couldn't find by reading someone else's work.  I believe that by developing your own brand, in other words, those distinct qualities that set you apart from others in the crowded publishing marketplace, you let readers know who you are and also increase your chances at great sales impact.  I'll walk you through how to do this during my PromoDay presentation!"

About Clay:

Clay Gilbert says he’s always liked stories, and that from the time he knew there were people who told them for a living, that’s what he wanted to do.  Clay’s work in various genres has been in print since his first short science fiction story, “The Computer Conspiracy,” was published inScholastic magazine when he was just thirteen. Clay is the author of the science fiction series Children of Evohe, including the novels Annah and the Children of Evohe, Annah and the Exiles, and Annah and the Gates of Grace.  He is also the author of the YA dystopian novel Eternity, as well as the vampire novel Dark Road to ParadiseHis works are published by Dark Moon Press.  He lives and works in KnoxvilleTN.  His author blog can be found athttp://portalsandpathways.wordpress.com/,  and the official website for hisChildren of Evohe novels resides at https://childrenofevohe.com/.

#PromoDay2018 #Webinar: Help! My book isn’t selling. What can I do? with Penny C. Sansevieri

Webinar title: Help! My book isn’t selling. What can I do?

Presenter: Penny C. Sansevieri

A brief outline of what will be covered:

It’s hard to know when it’s time to give up or keep pushing, and in a world where there are 4,500 books published each day, it's easy to get lost in the flood of titles that hit Amazon. So what's an eager author to do? Well, before you give up - let's look at 9 things that could be wrong and how to fix them.

In this session we'll look at specific issues that seem to plague some books that just aren't moving the needle.

Here are a few of the things we’ll look at:
  • Marketing – are you doing enough of the right things? I’ll show you how to know what you should be doing and give yourself your very own marketing grade.
  • Cover – do you know if your cover is strong enough for the genre?
  • Reviews – do you have enough? How to get more reviews even if your book is over a year old.
  • Is your book to old? Does it matter to your reader?

About Penny:

Penny C. Sansevieri, Founder and CEO Author Marketing Experts, Inc., is a best-selling author and internationally recognized book marketing and media relations expert. She is an Adjunct Professor teaching Self-Publishing for NYU. She is the author of fourteen books, including How to Sell Your Books by the Truckload on Amazon and Red Hot Internet Publicity, which has been called the "leading guide to everything Internet."

Webinar: Understanding Audiobooks with Virginia Jennings

#Webinar: Understanding Audiobooks with Virginia Jennings #PromoDay2018

Webinar title: Understanding Audiobooks

Presenter: Virginia Jennings

A brief outline of what will be covered:

How to find your producer/ what to look for
What information to give your producer before they start
What to look for when they send you a sample

How ACX works.

About Virginia:

When V.L. Jennings isn't traveling to other worlds through her imagination, she calls Dillon County, South Carolina her home. She was born in Nashua, New Hampshire in 1987 and is the author of two science fiction novels; "The Alien Mind" (which is the recipient of the Readers Favorite Five Star Review Award), and "Visionary From The Stars".

But what motivates Virginia to create, to illustrate, to prognosticate? Virginia is a speculator, the kind of person who always debates the "what if?" of where stories both true and fantastical are leading themselves to, which explains her love of post-apocalyptic fare such as "The Walking Dead." Through her writing, she enjoys trying to figure out what our human potential is, and where our innate desire for a better world could lead us.

Overall, Virginia is just about as real as a person can get. Yes, even authors love to sing along with their favorite local radio station while driving, and Virginia is no exception to this rule. She enjoys watching Doctor Who or Star Trek with her family over dinner, and also watching the latest sci-fi and action movies with her husband. On the weekends, you may even find Virginia and her family at the local comic book store, hunting down more comics to add to their collections.

V.L. Jennings spends her free time writing flash fiction on her blog and working towards her degree in Electronics Engineering. You can find out more about V.L. Jennings at www.virginialorijennings.com

You can also find V.L. Jennings on any of these social media sites!
