Webinar title: Understanding Audiobooks

Presenter: Virginia Jennings

A brief outline of what will be covered:

How to find your producer/ what to look for
What information to give your producer before they start
What to look for when they send you a sample

How ACX works.

About Virginia:

When V.L. Jennings isn't traveling to other worlds through her imagination, she calls Dillon County, South Carolina her home. She was born in Nashua, New Hampshire in 1987 and is the author of two science fiction novels; "The Alien Mind" (which is the recipient of the Readers Favorite Five Star Review Award), and "Visionary From The Stars".

But what motivates Virginia to create, to illustrate, to prognosticate? Virginia is a speculator, the kind of person who always debates the "what if?" of where stories both true and fantastical are leading themselves to, which explains her love of post-apocalyptic fare such as "The Walking Dead." Through her writing, she enjoys trying to figure out what our human potential is, and where our innate desire for a better world could lead us.

Overall, Virginia is just about as real as a person can get. Yes, even authors love to sing along with their favorite local radio station while driving, and Virginia is no exception to this rule. She enjoys watching Doctor Who or Star Trek with her family over dinner, and also watching the latest sci-fi and action movies with her husband. On the weekends, you may even find Virginia and her family at the local comic book store, hunting down more comics to add to their collections.

V.L. Jennings spends her free time writing flash fiction on her blog and working towards her degree in Electronics Engineering. You can find out more about V.L. Jennings at www.virginialorijennings.com

Virginia Jennings:

When V.L. Jennings isn't traveling to other worlds through her imagination, she calls Dillon, South Carolina her home. Her book, "The Alien Mind," is a science fiction novel published by PDMI Publishing, LLC and is also the recipient of the Readers Favorite Five Star Review Award. Her second title, "Visionary From The Stars" is expected to be re-released through PDMI as well, in 2016. V.L. Jennings has also illustrated a children's book for PDMI, titled "Wiggle Worm's Shape Adventures," written by Karen and Kathy Sills.

Stacey Keith:

Writing under various pseudonyms, Stacey Keith is a multi-award-winning author of Warner Books' popular self-help book, DRIVE YOUR WOMAN WILD IN BED. In her previous incarnation as a men's magazine model, she was the most photographed cover girl and centerfold of the mid 1990s, a notoriety she parlayed into B-movie roles, Feature Performances, and days off to perfect her writing. She has been seen on over twenty talk shows, including "Montel Williams", "Real Personal with Bob Berkowitz", "Geraldo Rivera", and "Joan Rivers".
Her fiction career has encompassed two Golden Heart finals, a Maggie, two Silver Quills, a Jasmine, a Heart of the Rockies, and over fifteen other first-place wins in Romance Writers of America contests. Her most recent work of erotic fiction, CARNAL SACRIFICE, written under the name Angelika Helsing, is available online or in paperback.
An avid writer of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and short stories, Stacey has a predilection for the offbeat, the bizarre, and “anti-June Cleaver” heroines. She doesn’t own a television, but reads compulsively—and would, in fact, go stark raving bonkers without books, of which there are many. She now lives in Calcata, a small medieval village in Italy that sits atop a cliff overlooking the Treja Valley. An artists’ colony that even the locals refer to as paese di fricchettoni, or “village of freaks,” Calcata is home to eccentrics, painters, musicians, and writers of all nationalities in addition to some pretty adorable kitties.

The replay of the panel discussion will be available all day long in the forums so if you can't tune in for the live chat you can still watch it and interact with the guests and other attendees.

Virginia Jennings to present at #PD14

Promo Day welcomes back Virginia Jennings for the 2014 event. This year she'll be sharing ideas for author events.

Presentation Title: What Your Author Event Can Learn From The Olympics

Description:

The hardest thing about offline marketing is getting your readers to notice you. By themselves or in groups, authors peddling their books can be intimidating to readers and their wallets. If you are thinking your book cover alone will draw a crowd remember that all the other authors believe that too. After visitors leave you want them to be excited to tell their friends about you. Traditional 'swag' either gets buried in the bottoms of purses or thrown in the trash eventually. Lets make some memories and turn author events upside down! Join Virginia as she explains how you can get everyone run over to your table and beg to join in the fun!

Bio:

Virginia Jennings is a speculative fiction author of two books as well as an illustrator with PDMI Publishing LLC. Jack of all trades, master of none she is a die hard tinkerer; she enjoys working at something until she gets it right. Whether it is ideas for her next novel, or trying to understand how the human brain works, she loves to research stuff.

Virginia lives in South Carolina with her husband and three kids. When she is not writing she enjoys watching science fiction or action adventure movies with her family. She also enjoys watching Star Trek, Dr. Who, Walking Dead, and House though not necessarily in that order! Come find out more about Virginia and explore human potential while soaring among the stars at www.virginialorijennings.com!
