Calling all publishers

Publishers are invited to take part in PROMO DAY both to promote their services and signed authors but also to network with other authors to maybe sign a new talent to their label.

There will be a special section in the forums dedicated to Publishing companies to give them space to post their submission guidelines, information about what they offer and answer questions from authors looking for a publishers for their manuscript.

Any Publishers wanting extra information or with questions about being involved can contact me by email.

Video trailers

Now's the time to prepare your book video trailers and submit them for posting to the PROMO DAY website.

Although all genres of books are accepted I ask that video's are 'clean' as the event is open to all ages and would prefer not to have any 'upset' visitors.

To have your video trailer featured on site during the event just send the embed code by email to promoday@ymail.com with 'video trailer' in the subject line.

Deadline for submissions 1st April 2010.

The return of PROMO DAY

As announced back in August 2009, PROMO DAY 2010 will take place on Saturday 15th May. To be kept up to date with all information regarding the event you can subscribe to this blog or sign up for the mailing list at the PROMO DAY website http://jolinsdell.tripod.com/promoday

2010 will see a few changes to the event to allow more interaction on an international level. One of these is the introduction of forums in place of the PROMO DAY chatroom. Everyone will be able to post to the forums throughout the day, meaning that people can pop in and out and still keep up with the various conversations and opportunities presented during the event. There will also be special sections for publishers, editors etc...More information about this to follow.

The workshops will remain as LIVE chats and be held in the chatroom on site as in previous events.

As always PROMO DAY will be FREE to attend and open to all.

If you are interested in sponsoring this years event please email promoday@ymail.com for more details. The cost is minimal. Exposure big. A sponsor may be an individual author/writer (as in last years event- Linda Ballou) or a company.

All 'crew' members (sponsors, workshop hosts, moderators) get their book in the onsite bookstore free of charge. If you would like to have your book placed in the bookstore but do not take part in the 'crew' this year, you can for a small charge. Please email for more details.

PROMO DAY Virtual Tour

PROMO DAY takes palce on Saturday 9th May 2009. During the lead up to PROMO DAY I will be doing a virtual tour to promote the event. If you have a website, blog, myspace account, facebook account or any other type of site that you can post to, you can help make it (and PROMO DAY) a huge success.

The aim of the virtual tour is to let people know about PROMO DAY and how they can be involved. It will highlight the various features on site and spread the word, which will hopefully mean an even bigger turn out on the day.

You can host an interview with yours truely, post your own write up of the event or if you've attended past events, post a review... or any other way you can think of.

If you host a radio show let your listeners know about PROMO DAY.

Feel free to send me any interview questions to promoday@ymail.com with 'virtual tour' in the subject line.

The more people that know about the event, the more people that will take part and the more successful it will be for everyone.

Radio and podcasts

Do you host a radio show or podcasts for authors and writers?

Writers are always on the look out for ways to promote their work and learn more about the industry. Let them know about your show and how they can get involved.

Send me the link for your site, along with a brief description of the show and contact details and I'll post it to the PROMO DAY site.

Email: promoday@ymail.com with 'radio' in the subject line.
