Pitch Sessions with ASJ Publishing

Pitch Sessions with ASJ Publishing

I'm excited to announce that ASJ Publishing will be taking pitches during the Promo Day 2019 event on Saturday 11th May.

About ASJ Publishing

Website: http://www.asjpublishing.com/hybrid-publishing/

ASJ Publishing was founded in 2010 by Award winning author, C.A.Milson (Chris Jackson), and officially launched in August 2012.

From the time we opened our virtual doors until now, ASJ Publishing continues to change with the times. Until 2015, our focus was solely POD, Ebooks and Audiobooks. By the end of 2015, our focus expanded to the world of music, film and Virtual Reality. ASJ Publishing is also an Indie Film Production company (with two series for TV already released), Music Distributor, and the first publishing house to release Virtual Reality books on the Oculus Rift.

In late 2018, we moved away from Traditional Publishing and into Hybrid Publishing. While there are authors who have a great story to tell, what eludes a lot of authors is the aspect of Marketing. Hence our Hybrid Publishing was born.

As of January 2019, we are a member of the IBPA (Independent Book Publishers Association).

It is my vision to be a pioneer and change the way people think about Literature and the Arts. ~ Chris Jackson. As Robert Kennedy once said, “Some men see things as they are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were, and ask why not.“

It is our Mission to bring quality Publishing for authors, musicians and film artists. Regardless of what your situation is, we can help bring your novel, music album or film to the next level of Publishing & Distribution.

Promo Day Success Stories: Across Spacetime

Promo Day Success Stories: Across Spacetime

Every year during the Promo Day event, a group of publishers take part in pitch sessions. These publishers are on the look out for talented authors with the right manuscript.

How the pitch sessions work:

1) Participating publishers post their submission guidelines to the event forums.
2) Registered Promo Day attendees can then send them their pitch.
3) The publishers send back a reply THE SAME DAY. That's right, no waiting weeks, months, or even years for a reply. They let you know during the event if they are interested or not.
4) If the publisher is interested they will then guide you through the next steps in the process.

Promo Day Success Stories

Today I wanted to share with you one of the pitch session success stories.

Author Angela Guidolin pitched her idea to publisher Fountain Blue Publishing  during the 2015 event. Her book Across Spacetime was released in March 2017 (purchase now at: Smashwords).

Ms Guidolin had this to say: “When two years ago I partook in Promo Day, I didn’t expect it would be so important for my writing career. As the day went on, I discovered a treasure throve of information regarding the marketing and publishing industry; I took part in a competition to win five ebooks offered by PDMI Publishing and I pitched my manuscript to Fountain Blue Publishing. The following day Jo announced to me I was the winner of the competition and by mid-July I signed my first publishing contract for a novella.”

Promo Day Success Stories: Across Spacetime

About the book:

2651: Humans have colonised most of the Solar System, and have a vast theoretical knowledge of the multiverse. The Martian branch of the Earth History Institute decides to put that knowledge to use by offering a few lucky students the chance to spend a short while on a different point of the spacetime continuum for research purposes.

Samir, a young Terran, takes this opportunity to experience London in the ‘90. A few years later he happens upon another time traveller, Beatrice, a young Progressive (human from the outer planetary systems). They fall in love, but for their story to work out, they have to overcome their own prejudice and change their expectations from life.

"During the PromoDay event in 2015, we received an query from Angela Guidolin for her novella Across Spacetime. Her query was well written and her story concept was intriguing, so we requested the full manuscript for consideration. After careful review by several staff members, it was agreed that her concept was unique, her writing was strong, and her story was worthy of publishing. We appreciate the opportunities that Promo Day affords to authors and publishers." Melanie Fountain, Fountain Blue Publishing.

Champagne Book Group (CBG) is one of the publishers taking pitches during the 2017 event on Saturday 6th May.

About CBG:

Champagne Book Group (CBG) has been open and publishing electronic fiction since 2004. Its origins began as a Canadian publisher.
Now under a new owner, CBG is a United States publisher with the goal and vision to deliver to readers quality books crafted with care and infused with passion that transport readers into imagination.
CBG authors write stories that transport readers to other worlds, to the past, to the future, lets them enjoy romance, find love, discover what it’s like to be a Bond or Bourne and ride in a spaceship as it zips through the stars.
We are primarily a digital publisher; however, books over 70,000 go into print within three (3) months after the digital release. We are a royalty-paying publisher.
At this time, we are not looking at manuscripts under 20,000 words unless we are doing a special call or looking for stories for an anthology.

Champagne Books has many lines that relate to the types of Champagne available for drinking. Check out the submissions guidelines.

Promo Day Success Stories

Today I wanted to share with you one of the pitch session success stories.

Author Lisa A. Baeringer pitched her idea to publisher Cedar Loft Publishing during the 2015 event. Her book Bet You Didn't Think MS Could Look This Good: Ramblings of a Medicated Mind was released October 2016 (purchase now at: http://amzn.to/2eSoU3i).

Ms Baeringer had this to say "Promo Day is an excellent event to participate in. My manuscript was picked up by Cedar Loft Publishing during this event. It's full of wonderful advice and information concerning the publishing trade. Promo Day offered me the opportunity to get my writing career off the ground."

Promo Day Success Stories: Bet You Didn't Think MS Could Look This Good

About the book:

Lisa had a good life; married to her high school sweetheart, two handsome sons, and a nice home. Quite literally, in the blink of an eye, her whole world turned upside down. Sickness began to not only ravage her body, but also her world. In her own words, taken from her private journal, she takes you through what daily life is like when you have a seriously incurable, chronic illness. It gets even more complicated when the illness she was told she had turns out to be something else, something rare and possibly even fatal.

Cedar Loft Publishing CEO/Executive Editor, Jenny McKinney, said "Taking pitches for new books during Promo Day has been an amazing experience for Cedar Loft Publishing. We were able to sign a new author, Lisa Baeringer, and publish her book, Bet You Didn't Think MS Could Look This Good. Her book has the potential to become a best seller and we couldn't be happier."
